About

David Walker is a teacher, literary magazine editor, and writer of both poetry and fiction.

 

He received his Bachelor's degree from Westfield State University where he was a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the Co-Managing Editor of the campus' literary arts magazine, and a performer at the 2011 Intercollegiate Poetry Slam hosted by WSU. Before graduating in 2011, he was a member of the 2010 Salem Poetry Seminar and was a workshop leader at the Massacusetts Poetry Festival the following year.

 

After earning his BA in English, he was accepted to the MFA Poetry program at Southern Connecticut State University. During this program, he was both the Graduate Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant his first and second year respectively, affording him the opportunity to co-lecture an introductory and advanced creative writing class. After he graduated, he was offered adjunct teaching positions at Goodwin College, Holyoke Community College, and, his alma mater, Westfield State University.

 

In 2014, he started a literary magazine in the form of a podcast titled Golden Walkman Magazine. His poetry and fiction have or will appear in The Quotable, Stoneboat, Mouse Tales Press, Fresh Ink, Cactus Heart and others. His chapbook, Pause: A Collection of Moment Poems, is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press.

 

David is currently in the throes of wedding planning as he is engaged to the wonderful woman he met at WSU, Caitlin. He lives with his fiancee and their cat in Westfield, MA.
